Tangled Thoughts

Keeping in touch with handmade postcards

A few days ago, I received this lovely handmade postcard from Jeri, one of my film photography buddies. Yes, handmade, and she made lots of it–she had her film photos printed and pasted on cardboard paper. At the back, she drew the postcard backing before writing her message. She knows that I love cats, so among the postcards she made and mailed, she decided this one should go to me!

The handmade/DIY postcard idea started as a project of the film photography group Jeri and I belong to. More than just a project, to us, it’s communication going the extra mile. Something as personal as this will surely brighten someone’s day. What a great way to keep in touch, isn’t it?

A lot of thought was given to this lovely postcard, and I am truly thankful to have received one! One of these days, I shall make my own set of handmade postcards and send them out to the world. I have joined Postcrossing for sending/receving postcards at random, and if you want to get one from me, I’d be happy to send you one as well!

  1. i love postcrossing.. used to send out alot more postcards but now that i’m so busy with work, hardly get the chance to be as active. Nonetheless, i love this idea of making your own postcard… i love taking pics (but am an amateur) and it makes me happy to receive photographs and give pics to people. just a little gesture to make one’s day! u agree?
